Pink Floyd: Empty Spaces

The full version of this song was cut from the album, The Wall, because of the space constraints of vinyl. The age of CDs, however, haven't brought the lost tracks from the film of the same name back to their rightful places on the album.

For those that still haven't seen this film, do. Basically, it's a series of music videos strung together to tell a story. These videos are more compelling than the Cristal commercials that pass for videos on MTV.

This video, which not to subtly combines rock angst with Georgia O'Keefe is one of the few animated sequences in the film.

Paul Potts Singing Opera

I don't usually get sentimental on sneTV, but hey, I'm a sucker for underdogs (and opera, apparently).

Props to Jaishree Stulpinas for submitting this one.

Bud Commercial: Swear Jar

If I had one of these at my old office, I'd have a big ass beer belly by now.

Shout out to Rebeka Choudhury for finding this.

Natas Kaupas: Wheels of Fire (1989)

It's amazing how sick Natas' wall riding and board sliding was twenty years ago. Look how he tricks off the hydrant at the end. To this day, no one can pull that off quite as smoothly.

Surf's Up: Teaser

I'm sorry, but the surf action in this animated film looks more legit than most live-action surf movies.

Windward Shorts: Cubicle War

Barats and Bereta's hilarious workplace pranks. The tie bit is well done.

Todd Falcon

Todd combines Rodney Mullen's classic freestyle footwork with vert and street skating. Very innovative, whether or not you're a fan of skate tricks.

Tom Mabe: Prank on Telemarketer

For a change the telemarketer falls victim to harassment.

Religions of the World

A graphic timeline of the world's major religions and their geographic distribution throughout history, in less than two minutes.

Ratatouille: Trailer

Here's a film I think the foodies in my family will get a kick out of.

Surfing the Amazon

The pororoca is a tidal phenomenon that occurs at the mouth of the Amazon. Every year around February or March, the high tide coming in from the Atlantic Ocean forms a wave that travels up the Amazon, against the river current.

It's effectively the longest ridable wave in the world with some rides lasting over 30 minutes. The Amazon poses hazards for surfers, namely crocodiles, river sharks, and (even scarier) candirĂºs, which are parasitic fish that swim up the penis.

Jamiroquai: Virtual Insanity

Though the floor looks like it's moving, it's the walls that move. The camera is fastened to the moving walls adding to the effect.

Goldfrapp: Number 1

A good video whether or not you're into dogs (or scantilly clad women).

Goldfrapp: Ooh La La

Goldfrapp's stylish tribute to glam rock.

Men in Coats

Funny. No words. Only magic.

Jeopardy: Ken Gets Ghetto

Though it wasn't the answer they were going for, I think they should have given it to him.

Brent Meyer: Inverted Nose and Tail Slide

Actually, I made the name up. I'm not sure this trick even has a name yet.

SNL: A Special Christmas Box

In case you haven't seen this, here it is. Hilarious. Makes me want to go out and buy a Color Me Badd album. My respect for Justin Timberlake shot up tenfold after this.

Honda Accord: Cog

Reminiscent of the German film "Der Lauf der Dinge." I was surprised to learn there are no special effects used. Very elegant.

Check out the "Making Of" video below as well.

Honda Accord: Making of Cog

Watch the Honda "Cog" video first, then watch this "Making Of" video.

It's good to see I'm not the only one who can't get things right the first (or hundredth) time.

ZaZoo: French Commercial

Funny commercial with a strong message.

Berlitz: German Commercial

Funny German ad.

SNL: Lazy Sunday

For those of you who've been trying to find "Lazy Sunday" aka. "Chronic-what?-cles of Narnia" on Youtube, I finally saw it posted there again.

Man, now I want cupcakes.

Pearl Jam: Hawaii 78

I recently went to Hawaii. The story of the native Hawaiians is a sad one that's seldom told. This Pearl Jam performance (a cover of the song by Kamakawiwo'ole) does a better job than I could.

Second Thoughts: Trailer

Those of us who've braved traffic, heat, snow, rip currents and sharks just for a wave, we have nothing on these guys. They get dropped off on a deserted island, run out of food, surf their brains out, and film all of it.

DEFINITELY WATCH THE LAST ONE AND-A-HALF MINUTES!!!!

It will help explain to you non-surfers why the rest of us are hooked.

Rodney Mullen: Footwork

Too bad street and vert have totally eclipsed freestyle. Watch the inventor of the kickflip, the heelflip, the impossible, and most importantly, the flat-ground ollie (the one that street skaters use) as he tears up a featureless parking lot back in the day before skateboards had tail and nose kicks.

Daft Punk: Around the world

Video by Michel Gondry where each dancer moves to a different audio track.

Kylie Minogue: Come Into My World

Another cleverly choreographed video from director Michel Gondry.

Chemical Brothers: Star Guitar

Directed by Michel Gondry. It looks like nothing at first until you realize that everything is a computer model and it's choreographed to the music.

OK Go: Here It Goes Again

Here's the treadmill video from 2006. These are the guys that performed on the MTV Video Music Awards.

Microsoft iPod

Parody of Microsoft's approach to graphic design. For those of you jaded by the uber-minimalism of Apple, consider the alternative...

Billabong Odyssey: Intro of Parsons at Jaws

One of the best surf-movie intros ever. No music, no sound effects, just the eerie silence before the avalanche.

Despite all the speculation, there is no CGI or creative splicing here. Mike Parsons really did drop in on a wave this huge. Scary thing is that countless others have dropped in on bigger waves.

Family Guy: Brian's Novel

Great motivation for me and others I know who've been trying to write something meaningful but don't have much to show for it.

Step Into Liquid: Trailer

For those of us that aren't lucky enough to be able to surf today, here's the next best thing.

MadTV: Bob Newhart as Psychologist

Funny sketch on Mad TV, especially for anyone who has friends willing to give unsolicited simplistic advice.

The Ring of Truth: Chef Mark Pi Makes Noodles
